Sorry seem to have parked my car in the way of the view.
Operation coast to coast to coast Mustang roadtrip cracked 5000 miles on the way up to the 8000 foot crater rim. Logging some miles tomorrow between Bend and Enterprise Oregon - any OR tips out there? What's with the 55 limit everywhere? Jeez!

That's gorgeous. Both nature and the machine.
Fun Fact: It's possible to circumnavigate Crater Lake by foot in the winter, but you gotta want it!

If you plan on making the jump over to Wyoming you have to hit Beartooth Highway. First I would drive up to Glacier National Park

I was wondering what the first person to ever climb up there must have thought when they found the lake. It's mind blowing

I don't think you're sorry at all.
And you shouldn't be, get photo.

you can actually swim in a portion of it as well if you make the 2 mile switchback filled trail down into it. that was the weirdest experience ever. you can get in and it be freezing cold move 10 feet and its almost boiling hot. plus I bet you read things on it but all the water in crater lake is rain water, there are no stream or anything in or out of there.

The first time I went there I was blown away. Did you happen to catch a glimpse of the "Old Man of the Lake"? It's an old log that's been bobbing around in there for about a hundred years.

Highway 1/101 is awesome. It's also a trip to check out the sand dunes in Florence, OR. Mt. Hood is also awesome, summertime skiing and snowboarding. I'm jealous of your trip, sounds great.
